Lucas County Health Center to Host ‘Mammograms and Massages’ During Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Lucas County Health Center is offering women the opportunity to pamper themselves while learning about their health. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, LCHC’s Healthy University will be offering “Mammograms and Massages” on Tuesday, October 13 from 4:30 – 6:30 PM. Massages will be provided by Amanda Coker of Healing Concepts Therapeutic Massage.
Women who schedule their screening mammograms during this event will be treated with free massages provided by Amanda Coker of Healing Concepts Therapeutic Massage. Women who attend the event and schedule their mammogram for a different day will be eligible to receive a coupon for a discounted massage.

Additionally, LCHC’s Gifts Galore gift shop will be open during the event for those who are interested in shopping. All attendees will also be eligible to enter their name into a drawing for a variety of prizes, including a pink FitBit. Refreshments will be served.

The American Cancer Society recommends that women 40 and over have an annual mammogram. Women should talk with their providers about their personal risk factors and make a decision about when to start getting mammograms or how often they should get them. Early detection is the best way to survive breast cancer and mammograms are a great tool for finding and fighting breast cancer early.

Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are recommended. To schedule your mammogram and massage, call LCHC’s Radiology Department at 641-774-3223.

This event is made possible by the 2015-2016 Healthy University sponsors, including Johnson Machine Works, Casey’s, Cater 2 U, KIIC Radio, Red Haw Family Medical Center, Ellis Greenhouse, Chat Mobility, Hammer Medical Supply, Screen Tech, Ameriprise Financial, HyVee, Midwest Heritage Bank, Midwest Heritage Insurance Services, and Edward Jones..
