About
Dr. Hoftiezer returned to his family’s roots in Iowa in 2013 after he finished his medical training. He began practice in Oskaloosa and then moved his practice to Chariton in 2017. He is also currently the past president of the Iowa Osteopathic Medical Association and served as President from 2021 to 2022. He has a passion for teaching and has lectured in both continuing medical education and in medical school settings and is now supervising the residency clinic one day a week in Kirksville, Missouri where he completed his residency. In 2020, Dr. Hoftiezer achieved the Degree of Fellow from the American Academy of Family Physicians.
He lives with his wife, Tara, and their five children. They enjoy being involved in church, taking walks, bicycling, boating, and reading.
