About
For Dr. Chapman, Iowa has always felt like home. Born just outside New York City, he eventually made his way to Iowa and has lived here longer than anywhere else. After spending time in northern Iowa, he’s excited to now call Lucas County home. He and his wife are building a house on their 160 acres and working toward starting a small cattle farm.
As a physician, Dr. Chapman enjoys caring for patients with a wide range of medical needs, with a special interest in rural emergency medicine and internal medicine. He completed residency in Family Medicine at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls ID. Dr. Chapman is Board Certified in Family Medicine.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Chapman enjoys cooking, gardening, and making homemade jams and jellies with his wife, Dr. Meagan Etchemendy. (He's especially fond of her blueberry lemon jam.) These days, they’re also busy keeping up with their 9-month-old son.
Dr. Chapman is looking forward to getting to know the people of southern Iowa, building relationships with patients and families, and becoming part of the community. For him, caring for the people who live around him is what makes rural medicine so rewarding.
