LCHC Welcomes Dr. Matt Morgan to Surgery Team

Lucas County Health Center (LCHC) is pleased to welcome Matt Morgan, DO, FACOS, to its medical staff, bringing extensive experience in general surgery and a commitment to providing quality care close to home.

Dr. Morgan is board certified in general surgery and brings more than 20 years of experience as a general surgeon. His professional experience includes leadership in general surgery, trauma care, and surgical robotics, as well as serving as an Adjunct Professor of General Surgery at Des Moines University.

“We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Morgan to our team,” said Jay Christensen, Chief Executive Officer. “Bringing a surgeon with his depth of experience and commitment to patient care is a tremendous opportunity for the patients we serve.”

Dr. Morgan earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, graduating Magna Cum Laude, from Oklahoma Baptist University before earning his Doctor of Osteopathy degree from Des Moines University. He completed his general surgery residency at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, where he served as Chief Resident during his final year.

Throughout his career, Dr. Morgan has completed advanced training in a variety of surgical techniques, including minimally invasive and laparoscopic procedures and the da Vinci Surgical System. He has also been actively involved in medical education, teaching medical students and providing lectures on a variety of surgical topics.Dr. Morgan is a Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons and is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, Iowa Osteopathic Medical Association, and American Hernia Society.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Morgan enjoys fly fishing, deer hunting, golf, and sporting activities.

Dr. Morgan is excited to join the LCHC team and looks forward to serving patients in the community. He is accepting new patients.
