Lucas County Health Center (LCHC) is excited to share they have been recognized with the 2026 Iowa Flex Overall Quality Performance Award, an honor presented by Compass Healthcare Collaborative and the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services in recognition of the hospital’s outstanding commitment to quality care.
The award recognizes critical access hospitals that demonstrate consistent reporting and exceptional performance across multiple quality measures through the Medicare Beneficiary Quality Improvement Project (MBQIP). LCHC earned the distinction for top performance in patient experience, clinical quality, emergency department care, and preventive health measures.

The Iowa Flex Overall Quality Performance Award is presented annually to hospitals that consistently demonstrate excellence in key quality indicators while maintaining comprehensive reporting through the Medicare Rural Hospital Flexibility Program. The award recognizes achievement across measures including patient satisfaction, clinical quality, emergency department performance, and infection prevention.
Representatives from LCHC accepted the award during the Medicare Rural Iowa Hospital Flexibility Program Annual Meeting on July 21 in Altoona.
