American Prosthetics & Orthotics has been providing rehabilitation care to Iowans of all ages with a wide variety of physical disabilities for more than three-quarters of a century. Their providers have the skill, experience, and education to design and fabricate prostheses and orthoses that help people overcome functional limitations due to accidents, illnesses, or birth defects.

Laurie Barr-Cronin, CPO/L, sees patients at APO’s Clive and Methodist Medical Plaza II offices. An ABC-certified practitioner, she has more than 25 years of experience in O&P practice. Laurie earned her undergraduate degree from Iowa State University and completed the degree programs in Orthotics and Prosthetics separately at Northwestern University. She is a member of the Iowa Prosthetic Orthotic Pedorthic Association (IPOPA) and Amputee Coalition, and participates in the Central Iowa Amputee Support Group (CIASG). She also conducts orthotic and prosthetic clinics in Albia, Centerville, Corydon, and Chariton, Iowa, on a biweekly basis and works as a clinical instructor and guest lecturer in the Department of Podiatry at Des Moines University. Laurie and her husband, Dave, reside in Des Moines.
