LCHC To Host Open House for New Physicians, Dr. Mayfield and Dr. Olesen

Lucas County Health Center (LCHC) is pleased to welcome Tim Mayfield, MD and Kaaren Olesen, DO to the facility and will celebrate with an Open House.

The community is invited to attend on Friday, April 27 from 3 – 5 pm in the Atrium of Lucas County Health Center. Guests will have the opportunity to meet Dr. Mayfield and Dr. Olesen and learn more about their services. Light refreshments will also be served.

Dr. Mayfield was raised in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He completed both medical school and general surgery residency at the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO. Tim sought further training in advanced laparoscopic surgery in Shawnee Mission, KS, a suburb of Kansas City. After completing his fellowship in 2011, he and his wife Emily moved to West Des Moines to be closer to family. He has become a trusted surgeon in central Iowa, serving the Des Moines metro area as well as surrounding communities.

Kaaren Olesen, DO was born in Cedar Rapids and grew up in several small communities throughout Iowa. She graduated high school from Sumner Community and went on to Boston University where she received a B.A. in Religion and Classics. She then attended Des Moines University (formerly known as University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences) in Des Moines, IA where she received a master’s degree in Healthcare Administration simultaneously with her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine. Kaaren then moved to Flint, Michigan for her internship and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Genesys Regional Medical Center. She is board certified in her specialty.
