When a wound isn’t healing as expected, it can affect your comfort, mobility, and overall quality of life. At LCHC’s Wound Care Center, we provide specialized care for chronic and hard-to-heal wounds, helping patients take steps toward healing and recovery.

Because every patient and every wound is different, our team takes an individualized approach to care. Through careful evaluation, treatment, and education, we work to promote healing, reduce the risk of complications, and help patients feel more confident managing their wounds.

Conditions We Treat

Our Wound Care Center provides care for a variety of chronic and difficult-to-heal wounds, including:

  • Diabetic wounds: Wounds associated with diabetes that may be slow to heal
  • Venous ulcers: Wounds commonly associated with poor blood flow through the veins
  • Arterial ulcers: Wounds caused by reduced blood flow through the arteries
  • Neuropathic ulcers: Wounds associated with nerve damage or loss of sensation
  • Pressure ulcers: Wounds caused by prolonged pressure on the skin
  • Surgical wounds: Incisions or wounds that experience difficulty healing after surgery
  • Traumatic wounds: Wounds resulting from injuries or accidents
  • Other: Wounds that have not responded to traditional treatment or have an unknown cause

What To Expect At Your Appointment

Your first visit will focus on understanding your wound, evaluating your overall health, and developing a plan of care tailored to your needs.

During your appointment, our team will:

  1. Review Your Health History: A wound care nurse will discuss your wound, medical history, current medications, and any treatments you’ve already tried.
  2. Evaluate Your Wound: Our team will carefully assess your wound and may recommend additional testing or laboratory work to better understand factors affecting healing.
  3. Develop a Care Plan: Based on your evaluation, we’ll work with you to determine the next steps in your treatment.
  4. Provide Education and Support: You’ll learn how to care for your wound at home, what may be affecting the healing process, and how to recognize warning signs of complications.
Preparing For Your Visit

To help us provide the best possible care, please bring the following to your appointment:

  • Medication List: A current list of prescription and over-the-counter medications, including dosages
  • Insurance Information: Your insurance card and any additional insurance information
  • Clothing: Wear loose-fitting clothing that allows easy access to wound and accommodates dressings
  • Support Person (Optional): A family member or friend who can learn to assist with care at home
