LCHC Foundation Awards Shirley’s Promise Scholarship To Kaylee Whitley

Lucas County Health Center (LCHC) is proud to announce Kaylee Whitley as the recipient of the esteemed Shirley’s Promise Scholarship, awarded through Lucas County Health Center’s Foundation. This scholarship was established to support and encourage the continued education and professional development of healthcare staff.

Shirley’s Promise was established by LCHC’s CEO, Brian Sims and his wife Traci Weldon, to honor his mother, Shirley. Shirley dedicated her life to nursing and helping others.

“Kaylee’s commitment to patient care and her aspiration to further her education in nursing are truly inspiring,” said Brian Sims, CEO of Lucas County Health Center. “We are honored to support her journey and proud to recognize her hard work and dedication through Shirley’s Promise Scholarship.”

Whitley is a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in LCHC’s Med/Surg department and is known for her exceptional care and commitment to patients. This fall, Kaylee will be pursuing a nursing degree at Southwestern Iowa Community College (SWICC). Her dedication to advancing her education in the nursing field exemplifies the spirit of Shirley’s Promise, making her a deserving recipient of this scholarship.

Lucas County Health Center and its Foundation remains committed to fostering the growth and development of its team members and we are proud to support Kaylee as she furthers her career.
