  • Monday – Friday from 8 AM – 4:30 PM
Description:
      • Accurately abstract and code from appropriate documentation in each dismissed patient’s medical record, according to approved policies and procedures and the needs of the department, medical staff, administration, etc.

This position may be designated/approved as a telecommuting position subject to approval of management. Telecommuter requirements are as follows:

  • Work on-site the first four to six weeks of employment and routinely as indicated in the “Remote Coding Policy/Telework Agreement”.
  • Consistently meet productivity benchmarks listed below in essential functions. If not, he/she may be required to work on-site for a designated period of time.
Requirements
Educational/Experience:
  • Registered Health Information Technologist, Certified Coding Specialist , or Certified Coding Associate; or possess equivalent training in coding systems
  • In-depth knowledge of coding/classification systems, health record content and sequence
  • Mandatory Abuse Reporter Certification within 6 months of employment
  • Knowledge and use of coding software+
  • Ability to navigate web-based applications
  • Ability to use standard office programs such as file management, virtual meeting tools, email platforms, and spreadsheets
  • Typing, grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills
