- Mainly Monday-Friday from 8:00am-5:00pm – Varied hours up to 32-40 hours per week. Works approx.. every 5th or 6th weekend as needed Saturday 8:00am-12:00pm and Sunday 11:00am-3:00pm
Description:
- Assists Physicians and/or Physician Assistants, Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners in providing patient care to the clinic patients as directed as a member of the Ambulatory Care Team, the Clinic Lead Nurse serves as a resource for the clinical staff in the ambulatory setting. The Lead Nurse assists the Chief Clinical Officer (CCO) by providing clinical oversight and direction that ensures the safety and quality of the care provided to patients. Relates effectively with other clinic staff for continuity of care; maintains satisfactory relations with other departments, participates in all phases of education, maintenance of records, and assists CCO with upgrading of policies, procedures, and skills. Helps with orientation and training of clinical personnel. Help with maintaining clinic pods in proficient and efficient manner. Demonstrates the knowledge that patient and workplace safety is a priority by preventing errors, accidents and infections and reporting potential or actual concerns immediately. Leads others by communicating positive reasons for change and opportunities while resolving problems and overcoming obstacles. Help to solve problems with staffing, patients, customer, provider and equipment issues. Establish effective mechanisms of communication with staff, providers, and patients to foster an environment of openness, trust, teamwork and staff development. The Lead Nurse is responsible for promoting and advancing the professional development of all clinical associates in the ambulatory setting through role modeling, mentoring, and providing feedback.
Requirements
Educational/Experience:
- Licensed Practical Nurse licensure, or Current Iowa Registered Nurse licensure
- Healthcare Provider BLS certification
- Mandatory Abuse Reporter Certification required within 6 months of employment.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English well.
- Computer literate – Microsoft Office and able to learn additional software programs.
