Why Donating Blood Locally Matters

Every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood and those needs are often urgent and unexpected. From emergency care to surgeries and cancer treatments, blood products play a critical role in saving lives every day.

Lucas County Health Center partners exclusively with LifeServe Blood Center, our primary provider of blood products. This partnership ensures that when patients receive care at LCHC, the blood products they need are available close to home.

When you donate blood through LifeServe, you’re helping ensure that your neighbors, friends, and family members have access to lifesaving blood right here at our hospital. Choosing where you donate helps determine where that blood is used and donating with LifeServe helps support local patients.

Blood can’t be manufactured. It can only come from generous donors willing to give a small amount of time to make a life-saving difference.
