Critical Access Hospital Annual Report

As a Critical Access Hospital, Lucas County Health Center is required to document compliance with Federal regulations and Critical Access Hospital Conditions of Participation. To do so, LCHC carries out a yearly evaluation of its program, including a review of service utilization and the number of patients served, an annual review of policy and procedures, and a sample of both active and closed clinical records.

Additionally, our performance review touches on service volume, type of service, trends, concerns, and accomplishments. Our Leadership Team and Board of Trustees use this information to develop action plans, including opportunities for improvement.

Goals for Fiscal Year 2026

  • Implement strategic plan focused on patient experience, workforce engagement, community connection, and financial stability
  • Recruit physicians and providers to strengthen access and expand specialty services
  • Evaluate opportunities to expand or enhance surgical specialties
  • Advance facility modernization and equipment upgrades
  • Develop a scholarship program for local students and staff in healthcare careers
  • Finalize plans for new construction starting in Spring 2027
  • Strengthen workforce stability and a positive, team-centered culture
  • Explore new revenue opportunities and strategic partnerships
