Lucas County Health Center is thrilled to announce its new partnership with LifeServe Blood Center. LifeServe Blood Center, recognized as one of the top 15 blood centers in the country, is now the exclusive supplier of all blood and blood products to Lucas County Health Center.
LifeServe Blood Center is renowned for its commitment to providing 100% of all blood products needed to more than 160 hospitals across Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota. This new partnership ensures that the residents and community members of Lucas County have the opportunity to make a direct impact by donating blood that will stay within their community. As a community-based blood center, LifeServe hosts blood drives only in communities where the blood will be used locally, benefiting area hospitals.
“We are incredibly grateful for the generous blood donors in our community. Their contributions are vital for the patients we serve,” said Denise Smith, LCHC Laboratory Manager. “One donation can save up to three lives and is essential for daily transfusions, surgeries, cancer treatments, traumatic injuries, and more.”
The demand for blood surges during the summer months and is fueled by increased accidents, surgeries, and emergencies. It is impossible to predict who will need blood, but donors can take comfort in knowing that their donations to LifeServe will directly benefit someone in need within their community. Blood donors can achieve more in one hour than most will do in a lifetime by giving the gift of life.
Additionally, LifeServe Blood Center offers an easy transfer process for donors who have accrued points and levels with other blood centers. Donors can transfer their existing points and levels to the LifeServe program by visiting www.lifeserve.info/transfer.
