LCHC’s Healthy University Sets Date for Mental Health First Aid Training

Lucas County Health Center’s Healthy University will host “Mental Health First Aid” on Saturday, February 17th and Saturday, February 24th in the Education Room at Lucas County Health Center. This class will run from 10 AM – 3 PM on both days.

This 12-hour training course will take place over the course of two days and will provide the tools to identify when someone might be struggling with a mental health or substance abuse problem and how to connect them with the support and resources when necessary. Mental health first aid participants will earn a five-step action plan that guides them through the process of reaching out and offering appropriate support.

All community members are welcome to attend. Continuing education credits are available. To successfully complete the course participants will be required to attend both sessions. Lunch will be provided, free of charge.

The cost of this course will be covered by LCHC’s Healthy University. While the event is free, registration is required. For more information or to register, click here or call (641) 774-3219.
