John Phillip Shealey Named LCHC CEO

Lucas County Health Center Board of Trustees and their affiliate partner iUnityPoint Health – Des Moines are proud to announce John Phillip Shealey, DBA, MBA, HFMA has been selected as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Lucas County Health Center effective May 3, 2021.

“We are looking forward to having Phil Shealey as our new CEO at Lucas County Health Center. He has a vast amount of experience in the health care field and is very personable,” says Mike Miller, chair of the Lucas County Health Center Board of Trustees. “Phil’s strong background in hospital finances and management will be an asset to our organization. In addition, his progressive health care experience will lend itself well to fulfilling the vision and mission of our Health Center.”

Currently, Shealey serves as the Chief Operating Officer for the Department of Veterans Affairs within the Northern Indiana Health Care System in Fort Wayne, Indiana. During his career with Northern Indiana Health Care, he has gained extensive experience in overseeing health care construction projects, as well as serving as the Chief Financial Officer from 2012 to 2015. Shealey also serves as an adjunct professor for the Graduate School of Business for the University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne.

Shealey holds a Doctorate in Business Administration and a Master’s in Healthcare Administration from Capella University. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Finance from American Intercontinental University.
