Iowa Health Link/Medicaid Modernization Webinar to be Hosted at Lucas County Health Center

Lucas County Health Center will host two Iowa Health Link (otherwise known as Medicaid Modernization) webinars at their facility. The first webinar will take place on Thursday, November 19 from 5 – 7 PM. The second webinar will be held on Saturday, November 21 from 9 – 11 AM. Both seminars will be held in LCHC’s Education Room and are free and open to the public.

The new program, called Iowa Health Link, will go into effect on January 1, 2016 and will join together Medicaid programs under a single managed care program. This new program will give members access to high quality health care coverage through a managed care organization, or MCO.

A managed care organization (MCO) is a health plan. It is a type of health coverage that makes sure users get the care that’s right for them from the managed care organization’s network of providers. Almost all Iowa Medicaid members are required to enroll with a MCO, but will be able to keep seeing their current provider if they contract with a MCO.
