Days and Shifts:
- PRN/Occasional position
- Regularly scheduled Wednesday or Thursday Night (Primarily Thursdays) and other shifts as needed,6:00pm to 6:30am.
Description:

- Oversee evening and night shift Emergency Room and Medical Surgical staff to ensure care is provided in compliance with Lucas County Health Center’s Mission, Vision, Core Values and ED and Medical Surgical Policies and Procedures.
- Make patient assignments..
- Initial patient interviews/initial assessments as needed
- Change of shift admits as needed
- Acts as resource person providing answers to questions for staff working nights
- Relates effectively with the Medical Surgical Manager and ED Manager and other shifts for continuity of care.
- Communicates effectively with other departments.
- Participates in all phases of education, maintenance of records, quality assurance, and upgrading policies, procedures, and skills.
- Review of charts for deficient charting and missing charges as needed.
- Assumes care of ED or Med/Surg patients if necessary.
- Assist in Emergency Department and Med/Surg as needed.
- Temporary registration of admits
- Assist in direct patient care as need is identified (high census, high acuity patients)
- Other duties as assigned
- Manage over night call ins and arrange appropriate staff for patient census/acuity.
Requirements
Educational/Experience:
- Current Iowa Registered Nurse licensure
- Previous supervisory experience preferred
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
- Epic experience preferred
- ACLS, BLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC certifications (May obtain these within 1st year of hire)
- Ability to read, write, speak, understand English well
