The Laboratory at Lucas County Health Center is a full-service lab open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, except for holidays. Accredited by the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA), the Laboratory features state-of-the-art equipment and well-trained staff who are nationally board-certified which enables us to provide accurate testing and results in a timely manner, with in-house testing usually available within an hour.
For our patient’s convenience, appointments need to be made for drug screens, breath alcohol, and paternity test collections.

Buzzy Bee
Buzzy Bee is a small device that can make a big difference during lab visits. Recently introduced in our laboratory, Buzzy Bee uses gentle vibration and cold therapy to help reduce pain and anxiety during blood draws and other needle procedures. This is especially helpful for children and patients who may feel nervous about needles or have had difficult lab experiences in the past. By offering tools like Buzzy Bee, Lucas County Health Center continues to focus on making healthcare more comfortable, supportive, and patient-centered for individuals and families in our community. Patients and families who are interested in using Buzzy Bee during their visit are encouraged to simply ask a member of our team.
