Pharmacy/Medical Clinic
Days and Shifts:
- Full-time position
- Monday – Friday from 7:30 AM – 4 PM
- On-call rotation: as needed for vacation coverage in hospital pharmacy
Description:
- Develops and coordinates pharmacy clinical functions throughout the hospital and clinics, including medication reconciliation, special drug monitoring clinics, and patient education programs
- At times will be involved with the day to day activities of distribution within the hospital
- Assists with planning and coordination of pharmacy departmental functions
- Assists with planning, policy formulation, and makes recommendations regarding decision making, with particular reference to the roles, functions, and operations of the Health Center’s pharmacy department
- Performs clinical and professional pharmaceutical work in the compounding and dispensing of drugs and IV supplies
- Assists with instruction of pharmacy students at LCHC completing rotations
Requirements
Educational/Experience:
- Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited institution
- Current registration to practice in Iowa
- Two (2) years of previous hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English well
- Mandatory Abuse Reporter Certification within 6 months of hire
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills
- Organizational and financial skills
