RN – Trauma Coordinator

Days and Shifts:
  • Routinely prescheduled 4 – 8 hours per week
Description:
  • Under limited supervision, plans, directs, and evaluates the Level 4 Trauma Certification
  • Works closely with the ED Nurse Manager to ensure proper orientation, training, and management of personnel under the trauma certification.
  • Accountable for Trauma Coordination which includes but is not limited to; collaboration with Trauma services Medical Director, development and maintenance of trauma specific policies, data collection, and quality improvement activities, to maintain compliance with the Iowa Department of Public Health statewide Trauma Systems regulations
Requirements
Educational/Experience:
  • Current Iowa licensure as a Registered Nurse
  • 2-5 years Emergency Department RN experience
  • BLS
  • ACLS & TNCC required within 12 months of employment
  • Mandatory Abuse Reporter Certification required within 6 months of employment
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English well
  • NRP and PALS preferred
