Description:
Assist in ER,  OR, Cardiac Rehab., and Specialty Clinics during busy times; Assist with task oriented nursing care as needed (i.e. IV starts, etc.); Enable floor nursing staff to do morning rounds with physicians; Cover for breaks in nursing departments;  Cardiac Rehab as needed; Back-up for Specialty Clinics as needed; OR recovery as needed; OR set up for emergency cases; Chart audits; Admitting and discharging patients; Assist with “now” orders in any of the above named departments; Assist with 2nd unit ambulance with transfers.

  • Relates effectively with other shifts for continuity of care; maintains satisfactory relations with other departments; participates in all phases of education, maintenance of records, and upgrading policies, procedures, and skills.
  • Night Float-check charts in health information for deficient charting; Admit clients into EPIC.

Days and Shifts:
Works varied days and shifts
6:00am – 6:00pm or 6:00pm – 6:00am
Orientation of 10 shifts in first 6 weeks required

Requirements
Educational/Experience:

  • 1 year RN Acute Care Experience Required
  • Current Iowa licensure as a Registered Nurse
  • Mandatory Abuse Reporter Certification within 6 months of employment
  • ACLS certification
  • NRP certification
  • TNCC certification
  • PALS certification
  • Healthcare Provider BLS certification
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English well
