Emergency Department
Days and Shifts:
- PRN Position
- Works varied days and shifts
- 6 AM – 6 PM or 6 PM – 6 AM
- Orientation of 10 shifts required in first 6 weeks
Description:
- Assist in ER and Med/Surg during busy times
- Assist with task-oriented nursing care as needed (i.e. IV starts, etc.)
- Enable floor nursing staff to do morning rounds with physicians
- Cover for breaks in nursing departments
- Chart audits; Admitting and discharging patients
- Assist with “now” orders in any of the above-named departments
- Night Float-check charts in health information for deficient charting; Admit clients into EPIC.
- Assist with 2nd unit ambulance with transfers
- Relates effectively with other shifts for continuity of care
- Maintains satisfactory relations with other departments
- Participates in all phases of education, maintenance of records, and upgrading policies, procedures, and skills
Requirements
Educational/Experience:
- 1 year RN Acute Care Experience Required
- Current Iowa licensure as a Registered Nurse
- Mandatory Abuse Reporter Certification within 6 months of employment
- ACLS certification
- NRP certification
- TNCC certification
- PALS certification
- Healthcare Provider BLS certification
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English well
