Description:

  • Functions as a driver of ambulance during transports and responses to 911 when necessary. The Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) functions independently, as well as in a team setting, providing exceptional pre-hospital clinical medicine based on licensure Scope of Practice. Must be able to utilize electronic communication, including portable and mobile radios, electronic patient care records, and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to maintain and trouble shoot medical equipment as well as keep equipment and vehicle clean and response ready.

Days and Shifts:
Varied days/shifts as needed
6:00am – 6:00pm or 6:00pm-6:00am
Fills in for transfers PRN.

Requirements
Educational/Experience:

  • Current Iowa EMR licensure
  • Valid Chauffeur’s license
  • Current Healthcare Provider BLS
  • Mandatory Abuse Reporter Certification within 6 months of hire
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English well
  • HS diploma or GED equivalent
  • Emergency Vehicle Operations Course within 1 year of hire
