Marilyn grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska, but has called Iowa her home since 1997 and currently lives in Pella. Since becoming a RN, she has worked in critical care; ICU/CCU and Emergency Departments. In 2012, she began working as faculty at Mercy College of Health Sciences, teaching critical care, which she continues to do today.
Although much of her career has been focused around emergency and trauma care, Marilyn enjoys all aspects of Family Medicine and is excited to return to LCHC Medical Clinic.
Marilyn considers her children and grandchildren to be her best accomplishment. Her daughter, who lives in Green Bay, Wisconsin, has blessed her with three grandchildren – a 3-year-old granddaughter and 1-year-old twin daughters. Her oldest son is married, lives in Ankeny, and has blessed her with two grandchildren – a 4-year-old grandson and 1-year-old grandson. Her youngest son currently attends Iowa State University and is studying Agriculture.
In her free time, Marilyn enjoys spending time with her dachshunds and is involved in dachshund rescue. Her hobbies include antiquing (as she jokes that she should have been born in the 1800s) and spending time with her family.
