About

In 1994, Dr. Cohen moved to Chariton. Since then, he has served as Trustee, Officer and, ultimately, President of the Iowa Chapter of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians and the Iowa Osteopathic Medical Association. Throughout the year, Dr. Cohen can be found mentoring third and fourth year medical students from Des Moines University at LCHC Medical Clinic.

In 2014, Dr. Cohen was named an Iowa Rural Health Champion. He also represents Iowa as a Delegate to the American College of Family Physicians Congress of Delegates and the American Osteopathic Association House of Delegates. In 2019, he was recognized as a Distinguished Fellow by the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians and was named Physician of the Year by the Iowa Osteopathic Medical Association.

Dr. Cohen lives with his wife, Suse, and their dogs. He enjoys spending time with his seven children and growing number of grandchildren as well as gardening, fishing, bowling, tennis, and bicycling.
