We're Serious About Childcare!
Kids' Life Discovery Center, a childcare service of Lucas County Health Center , is licensed to meet the physical and developmental needs of up to 135 children from 5:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Trained and educated staff members foster a nurturing environment of acceptance and welcome for all children.
Kids’ Life Discovery Center is an extension of the family unit, serving as a supplement to - not a replacement for - the family. Young children develop optimally through close, affectionate relationships with older people, particularly adults. Each child has a unique rate of development and level of ability, which is expected, valued, and accepted at Kids’ Life Discovery Center.
Kids’ Life stimulates the balanced growth of each child physically, emotionally, and intellectually. Young children learn best by interacting with their environment through meaningful play and hands-on experiences based on each child’s needs, abilities, and interests. Have you ever had to make other “last minute” arrangements for your child’s care when the sitter ‘called in sick?” You won’t have to worry about that with Kids’ Life Discovery Center. We are here for you every week day, providing fully licensed child care in a safe and nurturing environment.
Kids Love Our Place!
Within the cheerful spacious rooms, children ages 6 weeks to 12 years are encouraged to explore and learn. A wide variety of activities, both structured and unstructured, allow the children to stretch their minds and bodies. Field trips are frequent and specifically geared toward different age groups and capabilities.
Nutritionally balanced tempting meals, including breakfast, lunch and up to two snacks, are planned by a registered dietician and prepared by skilled cooks in the Kids' Life kitchen. Children eat family-style to develop good social skills and table manners.

Discovery Preschool
The Discovery Preschool mission is to build a strong foundation in early literacy, math, science, arts, and social skills through focused play, exploration, and discovery.
Kids’ Life Discovery Center and Discovery Preschool believe children learn best in an environment in which they participate in both planned and open-ended activities.
The three-year-old pre-school class will accept children who will be three years old by September 15 of the year in which they enroll. Full tuition scholarships are available through 4 Counties for Kids (ADLM Empowerment).
