When an emergency occurs, trust that Lucas County Health Center’s Emergency Room nurses, physicians, and EMS staff will be available and ready to respond to the situation at hand. Staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, the Emergency Department has the technology and resuscitation equipment paired with neighboring radiology and laboratory services to diagnose and treat emergency situations. Our three ambulances are also available around the clock to respond to off-site emergencies and 9-1-1 calls.

At times, it may be necessary to transfer patients to Des Moines or Iowa City for a higher level of care. For that reason, LCHC has a landing pad for LifeFlight and MercyOne helicopters in order to quickly transfer critical care patients to a larger facility. For non-urgent transfers, LCHC’s ambulance will transfer via ground.
